What is BLU-U Light Acne Treatment?
BLU-U® Blue Light Photodynamic Therapy is an effective procedure that calms inflammation and reduces Porphyrins bacteria associated with acne breakouts. The BLU-U light kills bacteria responsible for causing acne and treats both active lesions and other inactive sebaceous glands. BLU-U Light alone is FDA cleared for treating mild to moderate acne, and it can be done in conjunction with patients’ existing skin care therapies to maximize results. Our experienced cosmetic providers will create an individualized plan using this therapy and combined with other skin and facial care options to maximize results. A series of treatments is recommended for best results.
What Can I Expect from Treatment?
Patients will simply sit in front of the BLU-U Light delivery system for about 16 minutes. Patients feel a mild, warm sensation on the skin. Eye protection is provided as the light is bright, but very comfortable. Treatments are spaced weekly or monthly depending on individual needs, recommended combined therapies, and acne severity.
