IPL Fotofacial Rejuvenation
Designed for the full face, neck, chest and other body sites, it treats redness and flushing from rosacea in men and women. Visible signs of aging, sun damaged skin, brown spots, uneven texture, fine lines and wrinkles, capillaries and enlarged pores are markedly improved.
What is IPL Fotofacial Rejuvenation?
A skin laser treatment specifically designed to reduce the appearance of rosacea, freckles, broken capillaries, age spots, sun damage, and other skin imperfections. It also stimulates the production of collagen to create younger looking skin. IPL (Intense Pulse Light) Fotofacial is a proven, effective, noninvasive treatment that rejuvenates the skin. Common areas of treatment areas include the face, neck, chest, hands and arms. There is minimal to no downtime and treatment skin feels smoother with more even tone. A gradual decrease in overall redness, flushing, and age spots will be more visible after each treatment. Patients may experience some redness, darkening of brown spots, and slight swelling after treatment and these symptoms will resolve in several hours.
“Sharon ROCKS!!! Her care and service for my Fotofacials to remove red and brown spots are excellent…keeping you informed and keeping it real. I’m very satisfied.”
— Olympic Dermatology Fotofacial patient, July 2018
How Does it Work?
The procedure involves multiple passes over the skin using IPL and Nd:YAG laser energy to effect the pigment and veins at different levels. Fotofacial also includes deep penetrating wavelengths into the dermis to stimulate new collagen production that produces youthful skin tone and reduces fine lines and wrinkles. The Fotofacial + ALA procedure includes the application of a photosensitizing compound called Aminolevulenic Acid (ALA) during a Fotofacial treatment. The ALA is activated by the IPL energy and results in a more dramatic rejuvenation effect. As well, pre-cancerous skin cells are replaced with normal skin cells, making the treatment beneficial for people with roughened, red Actinic Keratosis.
