Welcome Dr. Hugh Nymeyer!
A blog by Dr. James Brazil, MD
We are pleased to introduce our newest Board Certified Dermatologist, Dr. Hugh Nymeyer, MD! We are excited for him to join our practice and we are confident he will be a great addition to our OlyDerm team. By expanding our office, we will be able to care for more members in our community.
We are impressed with Dr. Nymeyer’s background and we think you will agree. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Physics from Calvin College and then a Doctorate in Physics from the University of California, San Diego. After serving as the Director’s Postdoctoral Fellow at Los Alamos National Laboratory in the Division of Theoretical Biology and Biophysics, he went on to become an assistant professor at Florida State University with joint appointments in the Departments of Chemistry and Biochemistry, the Department of Computational Science, and the Institute of Molecular Biophysics. We are fortunate he decided to become a dermatologist! Dr. Nymeyer attended medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern, and did his Internal Medicine Internship and Dermatology Residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Science. Because he enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, biking and skiing, we think he and his family will immensely enjoy the great Pacific Northwest!
He will be seeing existing and new patients starting August 3rd, and he is excited to meet you! He will be able to help you by diagnosing and treating all kinds of medical dermatology issues, such as acne, psoriasis, eczema, rosacea, seborrheic dermatitis and skin cancer. He is already credentialed with some insurance plans, and we hope to finish credentialing very soon. Please call us at (360) 459-1700 to schedule an appointment!
