Blepharoplasty: Tightening the Upper Eyelid |
|
Dermatochalasis is the term for extra,
sagging eyelid skin. This extra skin gives eyes a tired,
hooded appearance. When it is severe enough the
eyelashes are covered by skin and eventually the upper
visual fields are reduced, affecting vision. A
blepharoplasty procedure entails the surgical removal of
this extra skin. The resulting scar is hidden within the
natural eyelid crease, and the resulting eyelid appears
natural and younger. This procedure is performed under
local anesthesia. |
