Body by Thermage™
Olympic Dermatology and Laser Clinic is pleased to announce the use of the latest technology and new treatment techniques with the Thermacool™ device for body sites. By utilizing the new ThermaTip DC™ and ThermaTip CL™ tips, our patients are now enjoying even more tissue tightening and contouring effects.
As people age they commonly notice sagging skin and prominent fat pads involving the arms, thighs, buttocks and abdomen. These problems are often resistant to aggressive dieting and exercise. The treatment of these problems is termed "body contouring", and it represents one of our specialties at Olympic Dermatology. Successful body contouring and shaping, without surgery, has not been a realistic option until now. Thermage technology utilizing the ThermaTip DC™ is now able to be used for tightening and recontouring the arms, hips, buttocks and abdomen. This device creates deeply penetrating radiofrequency waves. This energy safely heats fibrous tissues up to 2 inches below the skin surface, resulting in tightening and recontouring loose skin without surgery.
Thermage has also engineered a ThermaTip CL tip for treating cellulite. Cellulite is thought to be due to swelling of subcutaneous fat that is enclosed within thin fibrous septae. The tethering of the septae to the overlying skin is what causes the dimpling that characterizes the appearance of cellulite. Unfortunately cellulite is resistant to exercise and weight loss, and only variably responsive to dietary restrictions like salt and alcohol. We have evaluated treatments in the past, such as mesotherapy and endermologie, but our results and larger studies have not shown they work. We are excited to offer a treatment that does improve cellulite. The results can be seen within the first several months and progressive throughout the next 6 months.
For many patients, one to two treatments will suffice. Additional treatment(s) may be needed to achieve the desired improvements. However, since benefits gradually appear over 4 to 6 months, additional treatment(s) are not usually performed until 4 to 6 months after the initial procedure.
The Thermage™ procedure is an excellent way to rejuvenate sagging, uneven skin or to maintain your skin's current youthful appearance.
