Fraxel re:store™ Laser Resurfacing

The Olympic Dermatology and Laser Clinic is excited to announce a new upgrade to our Fraxel re:store™ laser skin rejuvenation program. Our new Fraxel™ SR1500 laser has a 30 percent deeper treatment effect. This means that each laser skin treatment will trigger a greater amount of new collagen production to more effectively rejuvenate your skin.

Repairing aging and sun-damaged skin: pixel by pixel, spot by spot. With today's emphasis on active, healthy lifestyles, many men and women feel younger than they look. Aging and sun-damaged skin, wrinkles, fine lines, and brown spots often clash with our self image. Fortunately, The Fraxel re:store™ skin laser is a proven technology that provides a fresh chance to turn back the clock on aging and is an effective wrinkle treatment.

Olympic Dermatology & Laser was the first practice in the state of Washington to offer Fraxel re:store™ Laser Resurfacing skin rejuvenation in January 2005. This new science was developed at Harvard University's Wellman Laboratories in connection with breakthrough technology from Reliant Technologies. Each Fraxel re:store™ Laser Resurfacing Treatment improves both the top layer and the bottom layer of your skin. The rejuvenated top layer is less wrinkled and has fewer age spots and a more youthful skin tone. The rejuvenated deeper skin layer feels softer, smoother and tighter. In addition, the Fraxel™ skin laser will also improve the appearance of scars due to acne or trauma, and can normalize skin tone in patients with pigmentary disorders such as melasma.

Benefits of the Fraxel™ SR1500 laser upgrade include:

  • deeper treatment effect for more effective skin rejuvenation
  • faster treatments-less discomfort
  • fewer side effects
  • more treatment options

A Fraxel treatment is performed in our office using primarily topical anesthesia. Each laser skin resurfacing treatment takes about 60 to 90 minutes, depending on the size of the area(s) being treated. Because the laser resurfacing procedure does not "ablate" or remove the outer skin layer, patients can resume routine activities shortly after treatment. Swelling is minimal and generally resolves in about 2 days. The skin will be dry and have a pinkish tone for 5 to 7 days and old skin cells are being replaced by new collagen enriched cells.
